Milagai pachadi is a dark brown sweet-sour and spicy relish made using green chillies (chilli bajji variety), tamarind, green chillies, dried red chilli and jaggery generally prepared in Kerala. Part of Tamil Nadu cuisine.
This relish is known for its simple yet tasty traditional basic recipes.
Ingredients
- 250gms green chillies (bajji variety)
- 1 tbsp til oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp chana dal
- 1-2 dried red chillies
- 2 green chillies, slit
- Tamarind (tennis ball sized)
- Jaggery (as preferred)
- Salt
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp asafoetida
